Our dance group has NEVER
performed in the Czech Republic.
Prague is a city not to be missed. And
there's a lot of great scenery and
history to be enjoyed. Also, we
will work with at least 20 groups there,
ten or more from foreign countries.
The same deal has been offered
that we had previously. We purchase our
round trip tickets to Prague (Ruzine
Airport). The festivals send ground
transportation and our guide to meet us
when we arrive. We will leave on
August 16, as previously planned, but
will return on August 31, just a bit of
a change. We are needed there until the
31st because the second festival has its
most important performance on the 30th.
Our first festival is in Sumperk, where
we will be from August 17 until the 24th
(www.festivalsumperk.cz).
We will be taken back to Prague in time
for the second of the two festivals,
August 25-31.
Each person going needs to give
me your name as it is on your passport,
your passport number, and your birth
date. Each person must also furnish his
or her own travel and health insurance
(if you choose to have it). I also
need your t-shirt number.
We will perform mostly on open
air stages, shows of no more than 30
minutes. We will be furnished an
interpreter as well as a guide. We will
have sightseeing visits to the "most
interesting places in the surroundings
of the festivals area".
We received pictures of the
accommodations for the first festival.
It is a high rise boarding high school
in Sumperk, with two persons per room.
There are bathrooms on each floor and
the meals will be served on the same
campus as the accommodation. ( We were
sent pictures of these rooms, etc.

For the second festival (in
Prague), we are housed in a hotel
(perhaps some sort of youth hostel).
A suggested packing list will be
distributed to all of you soon, along
with a list of "Instructions/Helpful
Hints". Please feel free to ask
questions. For some of you, it will be a
first trip of this type. Others are
seasoned travelers and will be glad to
answer questions, etc.
Please make sure that you
purchase a ticket to depart Nashville's
BNA Airport to arrive in Prague at least
by noon on August 17. You will need to
plan a return on August 31. We do not
all have to travel together, but I MUST
HAVE YOUR times of arrival and
departure, along with the names of your
airlines and your flight numbers and
flight plans. Please bring me or email
me a copy of it, and hopefully you will
have yours confirmed by Monday.
One of our big chores is to take
gifts to present at official gift
exchanges with dignitaries, guides,
festival organizers, etc. Donna is
working on bonnets and some of you have
already given her bonnet materials. We
will be collecting other items to take
(official proclamations from the State
of TN, Keys to the City of Murfreesboro,
etc.). You may be asked to pack some of
these items with your luggage so that
one person will not have to carry it
all.
